Getronics-dochter
GGS verkocht
Amsterdam - Automatiserings
bedrijf Getronics heeft de ver
koop van de Amerikaanse
dochter GGS aan DigitalNet af
gerond. Met de verkoop is 224
miljoen euro gemoeid plus een
voorwaardelijk deel van 27 mil
joen euro. De verkoop zal vol
gens Getronics leiden tot een
positieve kaspositie van rond
de 500 miljoen euro aan het
eind van dit jaar. Daardoor kan
het bedrijf de schulden verder
afbouwen naar minder dan 450
miljoen euro. Het kasgeld ge
bruikt de automatiseerder om
de schulden verder omlaag te
brengen en de balans te verbe
teren.
650 Miljoen voor
ING-aandelen
Amsterdam - De verkoop van
36 miljoen eigen aandelen heeft
ING 650 miljoen euro opgele
verd. De bank en verzekeraar
gebruikt het geld ter versterking
\-an het eigen vermogen. ING
maakte gisteren bekend een
deel van de eigen aandelen te
verkopen. De verkoop vloeit
voort uit een ander beleid voor
optieplannen voor het perso
neel. De bekendmaking veroor
zaakte een forse daling van het
aandeel. ING sloot 7,2 procent
lager op 18,14 euro. Dat is te
vens de prijs die ING voor de
aandelen heeft gekregen, en la
ger dan de prijs waar ING de
aandelen voor heeft gekocht.
Waterbedrijf
schrapt banen
Apeldoorn - Bij waterbedrijf VI-
tens verdwijnen de komende
vijf jaar 250 van de 1250 banen.
Volgens een woordvoerder van
het bedrijf vallen er geen ge
dwongen ontslagen. Vitens is in
mei ontstaan uit een fusie tus
sen Nuon Water, Waterbedrijf
Gelderland en Waterleiding
Maatschappij Overijssel. De in
krimping van personeel is mo
gelijk omdat door de fusie effi
ciënter kan worden gewerkt. Vi
tens levert water in Friesland,
Gelderland, Overijssel, de
Noordoostpolder en in een
aantal gemeenten in Drenthe.

meer werkgevers de hand op de
knip wat betreft telefoonvergoe
dingen, kinderopvang en lease
auto's. Van de bedrijven bezui
nigt 62 procent op secundaire
arbeidsvoorwaarden. In januari
was dit nog 12 procent.
Dat heeft het adviesbureau de
Hay Group vandaag bekendge
maakt, na onderzoek bij 230 on
dernemingen met gezamenlijk
meer dan 350.000 werknemers.
Bijvoorbeeld voor telefoonkos
ten stelt nu 28 procent van de
ondernemers een maximum in
voor de vergoeding van mobiele
telefoons. Vorig jaar was dat nog
16 procent.
Werkgevers proberen verder de
kosten van regelingen voor kin
deropvang te beheersen. Bijna
driekwart van de ondernemin
gen stelt nu duidelijke voor
waarden, tegen 59 procent vorig
jaar. Voorwaarden zijn onder
meer een minimumaantal con
tracturen of een minimumaan
tal dienstjaren.
Werkgevers zijn ook niet zo
scheutig meer met variabele be
loningen, zoals bonussen en
winstdeling. Gemiddeld krijgt
een werknemer op CAO-niveau
dit jaar 200 euro minder aan bo
nussen, terwijl zijn directeur het
met 2000 euro minder moet
stellen. De onderzoekers had
den eigenlijk een nog grotere
daling verwacht, gezien achter
blijvende bedrijfsresultaten.
BEURS KORT
Het aantal FAILLISSEMENTEN
in de VS is in het derde kwartaal
gestegen tot 401.306, een re
cord en 12 procent meer dan in
dezelfde periode vorig jaar. Ver
geleken met het vorige kwartaal
ginjg het slechts om een geringe
toename, maar analisten noe-
mejn het cijfer toch verontrus
tend. Normaal gesproken
neemt het aantal faillissemen
ten aan het eind van de zomer

Op de Europese beurzen was er
vanochtend geen echt nieuws
en dat resulteerde in licht stij
gende indexen. In Amsterdam
stond de AEX om kwart over elf
uur op een winst van 0,3 pro
cent of ruim een punt op 348,69.
Frankfurt en Londen stonden na
twee uur op een winstje van 0,2
procent en Parijs deed het nog
iets beter met 0,4 procent.
Verscheidene banken zagen hun
aandeelkoers dalen. Dat gebeur
de onder invloed van een winst
waarschuwing van de Britse
bank Abbey National. De bank
begon met verlies, maar krab
belde al snel op naar een be
scheiden winst. De euro noteer
de 0,9919 dollar, iets lager dan
de slotstand van gisteren.
Op de effectenbeurs in Tokyo
steeg de Nikkei-index vandaag
licht. De beursbarometer klom
51,89 punten (0,6 procent) en
sloot op 8875,88 punten. Het
verlies dinsdag op Wall Street
had weinig effect op de handel.

Andere Aziatische beurzen rea
geerden teleurstellend op de
jongste cijfers over het consu
mentenvertrouwen in de VS, de
belangrijkste exportmarkt voor
Azië. Sydney en Singapore ein
digden met verliezen van res
pectievelijk 0,4 en 0,7 procent.
De Hang Seng-index in Hong
Kong verloor 0,5 procent. De
Kospi-index in Seoul sloot de
dag wel met winst af (plus 0,8
procent).
